Dr. Frederick D. Styles
Dr. Frederick D. Styles is the founding pastor of True Tabernacle Christian Center Inc, which was established in 1998. Dr. Styles has helped several churches become incorporated as well. Dr. Styles is an anointed preacher and teacher after God’s own heart. Jeremiah 3:15 says, “And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.” Dr. Styles is known and respected as a dynamic preacher who will preach the truth because he believes the truth is what will set you free.
In 1978, Pastor Styles graduated from Prince Edward County High School in Farmville, Virginia. He joined the United States Army, retiring after serving twenty-two years on August 1, 2000. While stationed in Somalia, Africa, Pastor Styles, who was a Deacon at the time, started a Bible Study for all that would come. The attendance ranged from 5 to 25 personnel from the Military Police Company. Through prayer and Bible Study, souls were saved, and people rededicated their lives to Christ. In June of 1993, after returning from Somalia, Pastor Styles accepted his calling as a Minister.
On December 6, 1996, in Illeshiem, Germany, Elder Styles was appointed Pastor of True Tabernacle Church of God in Christ. The Lord gave him the supporting scripture for the name of his church: “A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched and not man” - Hebrews 8:2.
In September 1997, Pastor Styles and his family returned from Germany, they fellowship with Pastor Kenneth Fowlkes of Kingdom Builders Church of God in Christ, Hanover, Maryland. The Styles’ served faithfully for one year, and then the Lord moved upon Pastor Styles to start True Tabernacle Christian Center in October of 1998.
On September 7, 2002, Pastor Styles was consecrated to the Office of Bishop. Bishop Styles has held several positions in the church, which include the Office of Trustee, Bible Study teacher, Sunday School teacher, and under the guidance of the Prison Fellowship Ministry, Prison Fellowship Team Leader, and a Bible Study Teacher at the Maryland House of Corrections. Bishop Frederick D. Styles is the founder of It’s the Truth Radio Ministry and Consider Your Ways Television Ministry. He is the Founder and General Overseer of True Word Christian Fellowship, Inc., consecrated on September 7, 2002, and Incorporated on December 23, 2002.
Bishop Styles has a Master of Arts and Master of Divinity in Pastoral Counseling and a Doctor of Ministry from Liberty University. Bishop Styles resides in Severn, Maryland, with his wife, First Lady Cynthia D. Styles. Bishop and First Lady Styles have been married for 40 years, and they have two daughters, LaKeisha C. Barrett and Sheena A. Styles. Lakeisha is married to Neville F. Barrett, and they have two children, Yazmin and Mosiah Barrett.
